People who truly possess the Talawah Factor are usually so involved in making a difference in the lives of Jamaicans that they do not notice how much of an impact they are making, near as much as the people around them do. This site is dedicated to those people. Here on the Talawah Factor website, we endeavor to recognize these Talawahites and to show them our appreciation – and yours – for the Talawah Factor that is in their hearts and that is shown in their actions and in their efforts for a better, stronger Jamaica!
Talawah Factor: Jamaican Independence Day 2010
On this independence year for our beloved Jamaica, we want to recognize the accomplishments of these people, organizations and companies who embody the very spirit of the Talawah Factor, and let the world know how much we appreciate them.
Who To “Big-Up” For The Talawah Factor
Like the world-wide standards set by Jamaica’s great Olympians, true Talawahites have set high standards. Below are the attributes of Contemporary Talawahite institutions & individuals:
- Have a clearly defined vision/mission statement and strategic goals.
- Have a published governing board and leadership that leads by example and models
courage. - The organization is registered as a recognized non-profit organization.
- Have a demonstrated record of consistently delivering on commitments of care.
- Have a sustainable plan for mobilizing the necessary resources to continue an effective delivery of services.
- Intentionally mentors the next generation of leadership.
- Makes available an audited financial statement.
- Provides data about its activities and impact on the community or communities it serves.
We ask you to take a few moments thinking about people and/or organizations you feel embody the Spirit of the Talawah Factor, and then, as you feel led to do so, submit a nomination for that person or organization to us for review. Nominations will be reviewed, and upon approval, will be highlighted & recognized on this website and elsewhere on the internet. We want to recognize and hold their hands high!
